One is Silver and the Other is Gold Crappy

Brand new, beautiful sofa. The actual color has a little more brown in it than this picture shows, but it's a gray-brown that is so nice. And yes, before you ask, it will be covered with lint and dog hair, and I will happily remove said lint and dog hair with nary a complaint. Come over and stretch out on it!

The old one. Poor old thing, it's been loyal and green, and long ago it had a halfway decent sofa bed within. But it's from Ikea, and not only that, I figure it must be at least as old as Isaac, which as you know is sixteen years old. You can't see the many, many stains and rips in this picture. You can't see how many dogs barfed on it, nor how many babies peed on it. Ahem. My apologies if you've sat upon it in the past.

I heart your sofa. Hard.

Is that your dream sofa? It looks beautiful! How about a king-size sheet thrown over it, at least when Minnow is home alone?

this is pretty close to my dream sofa! i did also have my eye on a couple of more "girly" ones (pale blue velvet--that sounds practical, right?). if you're ever in the sofa market, i can recommend macy's for (relatively) inexpensive but stylish options. good idea about the sheet!!

I love your new sofa! Especially it's squared-off corners. I am not a fan of overstuffed rounded sit-upons.

thanks, julie! i know, it's kind of modern, in a comfy sort of way. i am SO excited about it, and inspired to paint the living room now.

Beautiful! We recently replaced our 10ish year old sofa and suddenly our house smells much less doggy. Hmmm...

danni, i feel like there were probably dog hairs embedded inside the old one. i am going to try to stay on top of the situation with this one, but i'm too soft-hearted to ban minnow from the sofa. HE'S MY FRIEND!

Maybe if you just made Minnow where pants and a long-sleeved shirt before he got on the couch?

i am seriously considering that idea, julie. and of course i will document it if i do dress my dog in people clothes.
