i want a pet chicken.

doesn't it seem weird that you can keep chickens in los angeles and chicago and new york and miami but not in portland, maine?

In Chapel Hill, it's 20 chickens in every plot.

no, it's because you have to have a permit, there are chickens in cape..

yeah, but cape is not portland -- they are allowed in most surrounding towns (including south portland), but NOT in portland. you can't even get a permit here! weird, huh?

interesting....i don't know the specific laws in southbury, ct, but i do know there's a rooster that lives down the street from me in a residential home that cocka-doodle-dos at about 7am every morning!
