ratatouille

we saw ratatouille last night, and it surpassed all of my expectations. m couldn't come with us, so we have a beautiful excuse to go right back and see it again. i laughed way, way harder at this than i did at knocked up. one of the best things about the movie is that despite how appealing the main character is, when there are shots of huge groups of rats moving en masse, it's absolutely disgusting for a split second -- you're reminded that these are rats we're talking about. this might be my favorite pixar movie yet, but i have to mull it over a bit before i make my final decision about that.

i loved this movie! i think it's second to monsters inc. on my list, but it was definitely the funniest one, and the jokes were much more clever than in cars.

I totally agree with you about how the rats looked so...rodenty? I also liked his Dad's crooked whiskers.

sure, let's all go again! yeah, that was my favorite part too, you know who. should i start calling you gini girl? the thing is, it looks like it should be pronounced like the name "ginny," which sounds like "jinny."

i liked the dad's whiskers too, david. i also thought all the rats' fur was so appealingly realistic.

YES to everything everyone has had to say plus the effects were exquisite & so beautifully done & the story was nuanced & subtle in many ways - and very French ! Pop loved the way you could tell his little heart was beating & he was breathing! & we both particularly loved that bent whisker, too oh, and the Proustian taste of the Ratatouille !!!- can't wait to see it again !
