we went to see shoestring theater's christmas carol this weekend with our friend ava (below), and her mom, dad and little brother. boo's new friend leander was in the play, and it was fantastic.



















we also took our annual holiday trip to the distant city of portsmouth, new hampshire, where we feasted at the friendly toast and did some christmas shopping.

in other holiday news, i finally baked some cookies. those pesky cupcakes kept hogging all my baking time and energy, but last night i made chocolate mint bars and gingerbread folks. mostly squirrels, gingerbread squirrels. now my freezer is beginning to look seasonally appropriate, filling with cookie tins!
