margot tennenbaum goes to a dance

...and she takes a cute flapper along with her.

yep, file this one under "first high school dance" for bean. she gave me the full report when she returned last night at 11:30 -- she had lots of fun. again, i feel i should let her report in her own blog, but she's been busy with other things lately, as you may have noticed. she said most kids were in costume, and most danced a lot; the music wasn't great, but they threw in a couple of her favorites; she ceilidh danced (?) to a talking heads song; she was instantly identified as margot tennenbaum, but only by the supremely cool teachers; a couple of those teachers were fabulous dancers (give it up for ms. leslie appelbaum!); she had fun chatting with michaela, world's most awesome chaperone; although she didn't receive a costume award, her principal confided that hers was his personal favorite; she observed only one person crying in the bathroom (it's been reported to me that this is an essential part of any dance, and that does ring a bell as far as my own high school/junior high dance experiences). and most importantly, this dance gave her the opportunity to get more mileage out of her amazing costume.

I recently learned that I am two degrees of separation from Gwyneth Paltrow, and I'll explain more when I see you again.
