oh ellen,

i know someone who would love a knitted squirrel like this one!

i didn't take a lunch photo today, because for god's sake, it's friday! i've made a total of what, twenty two lunches so far? and it's the end of the week, so they were both scrounged from what's left over in the fridge, and one major experiment: tater tots. how about a poll: despite the fact that i cooked them until extra crispy, who thinks they'll be soggy by lunchtime?

for an update on my feelings re: the guinea pig family, go here.

I think the tater tots will be soggy by lunch, plus the kids will have to deal with bullies stealing their tots! Oh, and if I could only knit a whole garden like that one, I wouldn't have to buy a new lawn mower! Once my brother and I each got a guinea pig for Christmas and, in less than a day, our dachshunds killed them--got into the garage where we were playing with them and quickly shook them to death. I was just Isaac's age, and it's not one of my best memories...

i will give you a full tater tot report later.

i am sorry to have the image of your daschshunds shaking your guinea pigs to death in my head now. i have to believe in my heart that minnow only wants to PLAY with them, and maybe carry them very gently around in his soft spaniel mouth...

tater tot update: slightly soggy, but still utterly eatable. two people said to bean "gimme some of your tots," and one of them is related to mama d! (like a true napoleon dynamite fan, she responded, "no, get your own!")
