grilled cheez

because i know you're dying to know how my experiments in vegan cooking are going, i bring you this vegan "gooey grilled cheez sandwich" from the ultimate uncheese cookbook. this recipe earned seven thumbs up (out of a possible eight). some found it a bit too gooey, and one of us wasn't entirely enamoured of the flavor. otherwise, it was a smashing success, and i have to say, really really tasty.

at this rate, i'll be opening that vegan diner of my dreams in no time! (just joking, dad.)

To distract from potential faux cheese shortcomings, do not underestimate the "grilled cheese made via waffle iron" method.

Like so.

Also, really good mustard of any sort, if you're into that kind of thing.

great idea! i actually own a waffle iron, too (is a george foreman grill really nothing but a glorified waffle iron sans "waffle pattern"?). i can't wait to try it. the "cheez" includes a bit of mustard, undoubtedly why it's so darn tasty.
